Description

get up® by febromed | Ceiling, Wall & Floor-Mounted Patient Support Handle

Transfers onto the examination table are one of the most physically demanding parts of an imaging or therapy workflow. The get up® changes who does the work. By placing a secure overhead handle within reach of the patient, it lets the patient pull and steady themselves during transfer and repositioning, so staff guide the movement rather than carry it. The result is a more controlled transfer, more reliable positioning, and less strain on the team.

Built in Germany by febromed, a manufacturer working to ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 certified quality systems. Available in the US.

Choosing a mount

The ceiling-mounted version is the usual choice: it keeps walls and floors completely clear and disappears into the room, which makes it well suited to new construction and refits alike. Where the ceiling can't take it, a wall mount works on any load-bearing wall structure. And where neither is an option, the floor-standing version delivers the same function as a free-standing unit with no structural work required.

Built around your modality

CT and hybrid imaging. Fits CT suites as well as SPECT-CT and PET-CT rooms, adapting to the room layout without blocking table access.

MRI. A stainless steel build validated for static fields of 0.55 T, 1.5 T and 3 T, with testing carried out alongside leading MRI manufacturers and accredited independent laboratories. A dedicated spacer anchors above the suspended ceiling, and polyamide bushings keep the system galvanically isolated inside the Faraday cage.

X-ray. A 2,600 mm swivel arm covers the full working area without getting in the way of ceiling rail systems. Where motorised equipment is in play, electronic position detection can be added, with LED status lighting and signal integration matched to your X-ray manufacturer.

Radiotherapy. Treatment rooms are crowded overhead. The get up® can be specified to swing beneath cameras, monitors and measuring devices already mounted there. For genuinely tight bunkers, a telescopic variant adds adjustable swivel limits and locking at 15° intervals.

Multilift. When a patient can't reposition under their own power, the Multilift variant adds a 275 kg lifting function to the same swivel-mounted system, with a seated transfer sling or an 8-point sling for supine positioning. Mobile patients still use the handle as normal.

Handle adjustment

A notched rail runs the length of the beam, so staff can slide the suspension to wherever suits the patient and lock it there, with a pin to stop it working loose in use. The handle itself offers roughly 260 mm of stepless height adjustment and rotates a full 360° before locking. When it isn't needed, it hangs out of the way.

From drawings to handover

febromed assesses structural requirements, load-bearing capacity and room layout up front, then supplies mounting drawings, technical documentation and installation guidelines your contractors and technical department can work from. Certified partners or febromed's own specialists carry out the install, align and test the system, and train the clinical team on site. Maintenance guidance, inspection support and spare parts follow for the life of the unit.
