The model features openings to the sculpted nasal and oral cavities. A nasopharyngeal swab can be passed through the nasal passage, and a standard tongue depressor can be inserted into the mouth to depress the fleshlike tongue and demonstrate strep testing. The see-through Plexiglas cover enables viewers to watch as procedures are demonstrated. Our affordable Swab Test Training Model is specifically designed for the training and demonstration of nasopharyngeal swab testing, which is used for the diagnosis of COVID-19, the flu, and other viral and some bacterial respiratory infections. The cast model features a head that is tilted back slightly for easier access to the realistically sculpted nasal passages as well as a clear Plexiglas front that facilitates student observation of procedures. A nasopharyngeal swab can be passed through the model’s nasal cavity to the recommended depth for testing. For demonstration of strep testing, a standard tongue depressor can be inserted into the model’s mouth and over the tongue, which is made of flexible, lifelike BIOLIKE™ synthetic material for a realistic feel.
